Short History of the North American Old Roman Catholic Church Incorporated

St. Willibrord

P. Eugene III

P. Leo X
The North American Old Roman Catholic Church (NAORCC) is a "Sui Iuris"(Particular Church) Old Roman Catholic Church that descends from the Roman Catholic See of Utrecht, Netherland which was granted autonomy by the Holy See in 1145 by Pope Eugene III. The NAORCC like the Eastern Catholic and Orthodox Churches is recognize as a "True Particular Church" by the Holy See through the document "Dominus Iesus" Chapter IV, No. 17, 2000. We remain united to the Catholic Church by means of the closest bond of Apostolic Succession and Valid Eucharist.

While united in this blessed way to the Catholic Church, and in direct and unbroken succession from Her, the NAORCC descends directly from the See of Utrecht. St. Willibrord, Apostles of the Netherlands was consecrated bishop by Pope Sergius I in, 696 AD at Rome. In Netherlands, he founded his See at Utrecht, from which successors such as St. Boniface, the Apostle of Germany, Pope Hadrian VI (the last non-Italian pope until Pope John Paul II, 455 years later), and Thomas a'Kempis who is credited with writing "The Imitation of Christ," also came forth.

Old Roman Catholicism is a modern expression of the Catholic Faith's spirituality, devotion, religiosity, and action lived in the first centuries. We strive to conform our lives, times and circumstances, to the image of Christ, and heal the Church's wounds and division suffered over the centuries. Relying on the power of the Holy Spirit and inspired by the example of the saints, Old Roman Catholics work to accept the Church's past, in order to heal the Church's present, and bring hope for the Church's future.

This is the lineage of the North American Old Roman Catholic Church Incorporated. Founded at Jerusalem in 33 A.D. Organized at Utrecht in 696 A.D. Granted autonomy by Rome in 1145 A.D. Annexed by Rome in 1853. Established in Great Britain in 1908 A.D. Recognized as a "sui iuris"Church in 1911 A.D. Established in North America in 1914 A.D.

The North American Old Roman Catholic Church Incorporated was established in the Philippines just three years ago when it was officially registered at the Securities and Exchange Commission on November 9, 2018 with RN: CN 201846138. The seat of the Church is at San Jose Manggagawa Old Roman Catholic Community, Lots 27/28, Block 16 Southmin IHomes Subdivision, Mabuhay, General Santos City. Since that time our missionary efforts towards unserved Catholics, those who have not received the sacraments for various reasons, and those who do not belong to any church anymore have grown fast. The presence of our missionaries have gained open acceptance among many in our mission areas. Because the NAORCC adopts optional celibacy (Priests/Pastors who are married or unmarried), a number of married Roman Catholic priests in the Philippines who have still that burning desire for the ministry has joined the Church. Because of that, our mission areas has already flourished in many areas. We have the Immaculate Conception Old Roman Catholic Church at Victory Homes Subdivision, Koronadal City with two missionary priests covering the neighbouring municipalities, the Our Lady of the Assumption Old Roman Catholic mission at Brgy. Benigno Aquino, Jr., Norola, South Cotabato, and Santa Catalina Old Roman Catholic mission at Upper Gatungan, Bunawan District, Davao City.

With the grace of God who inspire us to go on our missionary work of helping people hear the word of God through the Gospel, feel the love of God through the Sacraments and experience God's care through the celebration of the Holy Eucharist in their homes and communities we are convince that we will be instruments of God's peace and unity among our people leading them to praise God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
